Finally Friday, What a Week.

Well here it is, Friday again and it has been a busy week. I finally got my big birthday present this last Saturday. A DISHWASHER!!! My birthday was back in April but we finally had the $ all in one place to get it and we got a screamin' good deal. It is wonderful and I love letting it do the hard work. We have had one very much like it in the past and since our current apartment does not have one that's built in, it is nice to have one again. It also gives me a bit of moving counter space as well.

I did a meme that I got from Bean's blog and thought that I would include it with this post.

I am…a crazy woman.
I think…that life never turns out exactly like you thought it would.
I know… everything will work out for the best.

I want…a nap and a nice long weekend.
I have…the best hubby in the entire world.

I wish…I could buy him a cool truck.
I hate… mustard.
I fear… not measuring up to my own expectations.
I hear…the phone ringing and a good song on the radio.

I smell… like what I ate for lunch today.
I wonder…what to fix for dinner.
I regret… not using my money more wisely in the past.
I love… spending time with Big Grizz and our families.

I always…take off my shoes right when I get home.
I am not… a big fan of cold winter weather.

I believe… that God loves us all, no matter how stupid we act.
I don’t always… get all the things done that I would like to.
I win… sometimes.
I lose… my keys way to often.
I never… have a long enough weekend.
I listen… to the sound of the ocean on CD to help me go to sleep sometimes.

I am scared…of spiders and Bugs that fly at my face.

Have a great weekend everyone. Enjoy the beautiful fall leaves on the mountains. They are sure bright and pretty here in Utah.

Fortune Cookie Friday

Life is funny. It throws you curve balls when you least expect them. You never know when change is coming your way. Lately my life has been changing so quickly that I feel like I can't keep up. Thanks to everyone that shares this crazy life with me. You mean more to me than I can possibly express. Take time to smell the roses or whatever flower you like best and know you are loved.

My First Golf Outing & Fortune Cookie Friday

I went golfing for the very first time yesterday. This photo is from hole 11 on the course we played. The company that Big Grizz and I work for sponsored the tournament event and we golfed nine holes. Big Grizz was on my team along with a couple of other coworkers and we had a lot of fun. I am not very good for obvious reasons, but I would like to learn to be better. I have the enthusiasm! The weather was gorgeous. We had a pretty stiff wind for part of the time which made it harder on the better golfers.

Here is the fortune for today. I guess I had better keep my day job for a while.

Have A Great Weekend Everyone!!!

A Beautiful Bit of Poetry

I was relaxing in front of the television this evening and one of my favorite programs quoted a bit of poetry from William Wordsworth. I thought that I would share the tenth stanza from "Intimations of Immortality From Recollections of Early Childhood".

Then sing, ye Birds, sing, sing a joyous song!

And let the young Lambs bound

As to the tabor’s sound!

We in thought will join your throng,

Ye that pipe and ye that play,

Ye that through your hearts to-day

Feel the gladness of the May!

What though the radiance which was once so bright

Be now for ever taken from my sight,

Though nothing can bring back the hour

Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;

We will grieve not, rather find

Strength in what remains behind;

In the primal sympathy

Which having been must ever be;

In the soothing thoughts that spring

Out of human suffering;

In the faith that looks through death,

In years that bring the philosophic mind.

He has a way with words that struck a cord with me. The rest of the poem is beautiful as well. If you enjoyed this, go ahead and look it up.

Labor Day’s come and gone . . . What Happened To My Summer?

Man this year is just flying by and I wanted to do so much this summer that I didn’t even get a chance to plan, let alone do it. Don’t get me wrong, I did do some fun things this summer. I just wanted to do so much more and other things took precedence.

One thing that I did get to do this summer was to see a lot of my extended family, which was really nice. Unfortunately, most of my visiting took place because of funerals. My Grandmother passed away this summer just a week after we went to Boise to see her and the extended family. Big Grizz’s Great-aunt and also an Uncle and Aunt passed away at different times over the summer as well. Funerals have dominated this summer, which is very hard. We miss them all.

We also enjoyed playing this summer with the nieces and nephews. We went to the arcade and played at the park and celebrated the birth of Baby Beans. I guess we actually packed a lot in this summer but I would still would like about 10 more 3 day weekends to make up for my “lost” summer.

Labor Day weekend was a lot of fun, even if it was a very wet weekend. (Over an inch of rain!) It was great to spend it with all kinds of family and friends. There is never enough time to see everyone for long enough, but I sure enjoyed my visits with My Aunt and Uncle and cousins as well as the Sushi boy family.
